Amoeba Proteus, L0001 (jar)

$5.30

Listed Under: Specimens

Jar of 30 each, used in general biology and zoology courses to illustrate the structure of amoebae, and for the study of amoeboid locomotion.

This small protozoan uses tentacular protuberances called pseudopodia to move and phagocytose smaller unicellular organisms, which are enveloped inside the cell’s cytoplasm in a food vacuole, where they are slowly broken down by enzymes. One jar is enough for a class of 30 students.
