Description
Hydra feed on small animals, such as water-fleas (daphnia). These are caught by structures called nematocysts. There are different types of nematocysts, some stinging and paralysing the prey, while others discharge threads which coil round the prey and hold it.
Sufficient daphnia are supplied in a separate jar for feeding.
Separate culture of one hydra and daphnia (hydra food).
